The Bible is one book, one history, one story — God’s story!
This three-sentence mini-sumary of God’s book:
1. God is the author.
2. We are the characters.
3. Jesus is the theme.
2. We are the characters. One of the unique things about the Bible is how much it focuses on us — God’s human creation. Every book of the Bible describes how God has interacted with people. He is not some distant deity who has no interest in His creation. The Bible tells us in great detail how God has reached down to bring us back to Himself.

The Old Testament is basically a historical record of one group of people, the Hebrews, up to 432 B.C. As you might expect, all of the books in the Old Testament were written by Jewish authors (39 in all) in their native language, which was (you guessed it) Hebrew.
By reading the Bible you’re going to discover that it will put you in touch with God Himself. You’re not alone in your search to find out more about the Bible. The fact of the matter is that the Bible is the bestselling book in the world! No one knows how many people throughout history have actually read the Bible or a portion of the Bible, but we do know that since the invention of the printing press in 1455, more than 6 billion copies of the Bible have been printed in more than 2000 languages. That means that billions of people in every corner of the world have read at least a portion of the Bible. The Bible has no rival when it comes to populaity.
