“All Things New”

           Your future has no room for your past mistakes. How much time do you waste feeling guilty? It is important that you think about this, because spending time dwelling on past mistakes is something God has told us not to do. No one is perfect. The good news is Jesus came for those who were sick (imperfect), not those who were well (perfect). “On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Mark 2:17Mark 2:17

No he venido a llamar a justos,m sino a pecadores.

           The source of guilt is the devil. He is the accuser of the brethren, according to the Bible Revelation 12:10Revelation 12:10

“And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.” God will convict us of wrong choices and actions, but He never tries to make us feel guilty. Guilty presses us down, but godly conviction brings an opportunity to change and progress. As believers in Jesus Christ and as sons and daughters of God, we have been set free from the power of sin Rom 6:6-10Rom 6:6-10

. That doesn’t mean we’ll never sin, but it does mean that when we do, we can admit it, receive forgiveness, and be free from guilt. Our journey with God toward right behavior and holiness is progressive, and if we have to drag the guilt from past mistakes along with us, we’ll never make progress toward true freedom and joy. Do you feel like a failure? Do you need a new start? Go to the Lord in humility, and He’ll show you that He’s the God of new beginnings.

MOSES in Acts 7:22-28Acts 7:22-28

we see that he had the right idea, but wrong timing and wrong method. When God spoke to him 40 years later, Moses was tremendously reluctant and said:

* Who am I?

* They will not believe me nor listen to me.

* I am not eloquent.

Moses had to come to a place of believing more in God’s current mercy than in his own past mistakes.

PETER in Luke 22:31-34Luke 22:31-34

we read that Jesus knew ahead of time that Peter was going to fail, and He

* loved him anyway

* saved him anyway

* called him anyway

If you will hold on to your faith in the midst of a failure, your faith will convert you from failure back to success.

We read PAUL writing in 1 Timothy 1:12-131 Timothy 1:12-13

          All of these men had to receive the mercy and the compassion to start over again. If there’s hope for them, there’s hope for us. The God of new beginnings worked in their lives and He’ll work in yours! There are people in congregations across the country who have quit on the inside – they’re just going through the motions. People have resigned themselves on the inside to binding limitations, but the God of new beginnings wants to

o renew you

o rejuvenate you

o refresh you

          The fear of the LORD does not mean for us to be afraid of God, but to reverence and respect Him for who He is-”THE SOVEREIGN GOD”! When we continue to live in the old and not begin new with God, we are unable to experience the love of God that gives us assurance and confidence of our salvation, we are not motivated to repent because we do not see anything wrong in continuing one year after the next doing as we please, according to our own knowledge and wisdom. To begin new with God, we must move beyond our desire to feed our flesh and focus on our “NEED” for God.

          We should take a very close look at where we are in our relationship with God; there is an area in our christian walk where we all can improve. We need to examine ourselves and see where we have been, where we are and where the Lord want us to be. Let today be a day of new beginnings with you and God. Commitment to God will bring about a stronger relationship between you and the Lord. We are to allow a heavenly perspective to govern our earthly walk! Every decision, every activity, every plan and purpose is to be considered in the light of eternity. Everything is to be laid out before the Lord and considered not from earthly, sensual perspective, but from the viewpoint of Heaven. God’s people are called upon to become heavenly minded.
